This site is a professional biography and reference resource. It is operated by Yousry Mahmoud Atlm, who is the data controller for the limited personal data described below and may be reached at the address at the foot of this notice. This notice explains what the site handles, why, and what you may ask for.

What is collected

The site does not require an account, does not ask visitors to register, and carries no advertising. Two categories of data may be handled. First, information you send voluntarily: if you write to the published contact address, your name, email address and the content of your message are received and retained only for as long as needed to deal with the matter. Second, technical information recorded automatically by the hosting provider — IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of request — kept as part of standard server logs for security and reliability. Downloading a file from the Downloads page does not identify you; it is an ordinary file request and appears only in those server logs.

Why it is handled, and on what basis

Voluntary correspondence is handled in order to answer you and, where the enquiry concerns speaking, advisory, media or investment matters, to arrange the discussion requested — that is, to take steps you have asked for, and in the legitimate interest of responding to professional correspondence. Server logs are kept in the legitimate interest of keeping the site available, diagnosing faults and preventing abuse. Personal data is not sold, rented, traded, or used to build advertising or behavioural profiles, and no automated decision-making is carried out.

Who sees it

Data is disclosed only to the hosting provider that operates the servers, acting on instructions and for no purpose of its own; to a professional adviser where that is necessary for a specific matter; and where disclosure is required by law or by a competent authority. No third-party advertising network, data broker or audience-measurement service receives anything from this site.

Where it is held

The site is hosted on servers operated by a United States hosting provider, so correspondence and server logs may be stored in, or accessible from, the United States and other countries. Where personal data is transferred out of the country in which you are located, it is handled in accordance with this notice and protected by contractual arrangements with the hosting provider.

How long it is kept

Correspondence is retained while the matter is live and for a reasonable period afterwards as a record of the exchange, and is then deleted. Server logs are retained on the hosting provider’s standard cycle and are not consolidated into any separate record.

Your rights

You may ask what personal data is held about you, ask for a copy of it, ask for it to be corrected or completed, ask for it to be deleted, ask that its use be restricted, and object to its use where the basis for that use is legitimate interest. Requests are answered within one month, and there is no charge. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may complain to the data protection authority competent for the country in which you live or work; asking here first is welcome but is not a precondition.

Children

This site is directed at a professional audience and is not intended for children. No personal data is knowingly collected from anyone under the age of sixteen. If such data has reached this site, write to the address below and it will be deleted.

Changes

If this notice changes, the revised version is published here and the date at the foot of the page is updated. Material changes are not applied retrospectively to correspondence already received.
